Amazon could soon launch an initiative related to NFTs and blockchain games
The e-commerce giant Amazon is about to launch a first initiative related to non-fungible tokens (NFT). The experiment would invite Amazon customers to play crypto games and collect free NFTs at the same time.
Amazon ready to conquer the world of NFT?
According to our colleagues at Blockworks, the Amazon juggernaut plans to launch a new initiative using non-fungible tokens (NFT) next April.
Amazon’s primary goal was to encourage its customers to play blockchain games and claim free NFTs in the process.
To create this platform, Amazon would approach many major partners in the cryptocurrency industrysuch as layer 1 blockchains, startups specializing in blockchain games or even cryptocurrency exchange platforms.
This NFT platform is currently under development and could be natively operated on Amazon rather than on Amazon Web Services (AWS), the Amazon subsidiary already having a foothold in Web3.
The exact dimension of Amazon’s Web3 intentions and goals remains unclear at this time. Moreover, no official source has yet denied or confirmed the proposals relayed by Blockworks. If such a platform is to be beautiful and well see the light of day next April, it is very likely that even more details will be revealed in the coming weeks.

Some appreciation for blockchain
It’s not so surprising that Amazon is getting into the business. Last April, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy spoke expressly about NFTs and cryptocurrencies during an interview:
“I expect NFTs to continue to grow very significantly. We are probably not close to adding cryptocurrency as a means of payment in our retail business, but I believe that over time cryptocurrency will gain momentum and it is likely [qu’Amazon intègre les paiements en cryptomonnaies] “.
Also, through its Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud computing platform, the company already offers a multitude of blockchain-related services.
The best-known examples of implementation at AWS are those of the Ethereum (ETH) and Avalanche (AVAX) blockchains.. Within minutes, may be able to launch a node for one of these blockchains, while AWS takes care of the maintenance.
