CEO of Thodex, the Turkish crypto exchange, banned from Albania

CEO and founder of collapsed Turkish crypto exchange Thodex, Faruk Fatih Özer, has been banned from Albania after being arrested in the country, official says statement of the Turkish Interior Ministry.
Thodex, once one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges in the country, suddenly ceased trading in April 2021. This led to over 400,000 users losing funds. At the time, local media reported that Özer fled to Albania.
After the collapse, a statement was released in which Özer said he thought about giving up or killing himself before eventually fleeing the country to “stay alive and fight, work and pay off my debts”. He also said, “The day I repay all my debt, I will return to my country and face justice.
