Crypto prices are rising: bitcoin (BTC) was recently trading up 1.5% at $16,400, while Ether (ETH) gained 4.3% to hit $1,220. Despite the rebound in major assets since Monday’s plunge, traders are trying to figure out “which parts of the cryptoverse are about to break,” wrote Edward Moya, principal market analyst for forex market maker Oanda, in a note from Tuesday. Moya noted that this is not a “conducive environment to buy the crypto dip” as downside risks are high, “given price disparities for other crypto derivatives, fears of a potential run on some exchanges and concerns [that] risk appetite is in trouble as the economy appears to be heading into a recession.”
