Crypto Price Today: Bitcoin Nears $20,000; Solana, Polkadot and Avalanche gain up to 7%

New Delhi: Crypto tokens continued to advance on Friday. Bitcoin moved towards the key $20,000 level but was unable to touch it again.
The Ethereum merger, which will shift the proof-of-work protocol to a more energy-efficient proof-of-stake protocol, is about a week away.
All the top tokens, even stablecoins, were trading with strong gains on Friday. Solana was up around 7%, while Polkadot and Avalanche gained 5% each.
The global cryptocurrency market capitalization was trading decently higher at $994.1 billion, rising nearly 2% in the past 24 hours. However, total trading volume fell by more than 5% to nearly $73.39 billion.
