Cryptocurrency Price Today: Bitcoin Drops 6%, Ethereum Down 11%, Market Cap Below $1 Trillion

Global crypto market cap fell below $1 trillion mark with main cryptocurrencies As Bitcoin, EtherumBinance and other traders in the red.

The hottest coin today was Ethereum (ETH), and the top gainer was Huobi Token (HT).
The global crypto market capitalization fell about 6% to $973.08 billion as of 8:40 am CET. However, global crypto volume grew by 46.84% to $94.04 billion, according to data from Coinmarketcap.

The trading volume in the decentralized finance coins section is approximately $6.56 billion, or 6.98% of the total 24-hour crypto market volume. The volume of all stablecoins is $84.6 billion, which is about 89.96% of the total crypto market volume in the last 24 hours.

Today’s top gainer was Huobi Token (HT), which rose 7.34% to $5.13. The big loser was Lido DAO (LDO), down 13.41% to $1.73.

Bitcoin

Bitcoin fell 6.26% to $20,242.72.

BTC’s price came under pressure shortly after 9:34 a.m. on August 26 and traded with losses throughout the day. However, around 6:08 p.m. an unsuccessful attempt was made to raise the price of BTC and for a brief moment the price was in the green zone. But by 8:02 p.m. the price had returned to the red zone and had fallen much more than before.

The lowest price for BTC today was $20,183.29 and its trading volume increased by 40.02% to $43,203,797,956.

Ethereum

The price of Ethereum this morning was $1,502.22, a loss of 10.99% over the past 24 hours.

Like BTC, ETH also came under heavy selling pressure around 9:39 a.m. on August 26 and its price never recovered. Despite significant buying activity after 7:14 p.m., it was not sustainable and as a result, the price of ETH, albeit momentarily, rose for about 30 minutes. It eventually fell below the $1,500 levels.

The lowest price for ETH today was $1,490.66. The trading volume of ETH increased by 82.82% to $27,463,486,533.

The price of Solana (SOL) fell 9.31% to $31.84 today.

Ripple (XRP) fell 3.79% to $0.334 and its 24-hour trading volume rose 103.47% to $1,848,893,812.

Cardano (ADA) fell 7.34% to $0.4327. The 24-hour trading volume for ADA increased by 157.84% to $1,360,178,633.

Binance (BNB) fell 6.6% to $279.83. Its 24-hour trading volume increased by 23.39% to $1,222,462,695.
