Cryptocurrency Price Today: Crypto Rally Ends As BTC Falls Over 2%, ETH Down 4%

The global cryptocurrency market traded in the red on Friday as BTC and ETH surged. The market fell 2.76% to $1.02 trillion, while trading volume fell 2.81% to $65.29 billion in the past 24 hours as of 5:50 p.m. IST, according to Coinmarketcap. com.

Friday’s top earner was Theta Fuel token. It was trading at $0.06763, up 7.99% in the past 24 hours. The big loser was Lida DAO, trading at $1.94, down 8.61% in the last 24 hours.

“Ripple (XRP) and Shiba Inu (SHIB) highlighted an increase in whale transactions to a three-month high. Traditional financial firms continued to price XRP as a potential “payment opportunity” and SHIB has recorded a resurgence of new holders amid a spike in social media mentions,” the CoinDCX market research team said.

Bitcoin (BTC): BTC fell 2.35% to $21,204. Its intraday low was $21,171. Its market capitalization decreased by 2.34% to $405.6 billion and its trading volume decreased by 5.38% to $30.2 billion. BTC’s dominance in the crypto market increased by 0.15% to 39.74%.

Ethereum (ETH): ETH rose 4.47% to hit $1,631. Its market cap decreased by 4.46% to $199.2 billion and its trading volume increased by 3.39% to $16.5 billion.
