Morgan Stanley alum joins B2C2 as CEO for EMEA – The TRADE

The B2C2 crypto market maker has appointed the former global head of macro e-commerce at Morgan Stanley as managing director for EMEA.
Thomas Restout will assume the role and report to Phillip Gillespie, Group CEO, effective immediately.
Restout joins Morgan Stanley where he was responsible for product strategy, innovation and execution across a range of trading disciplines, assets and protocols.
As part of his role, Restout operated as a member of Morgan Stanley Securities’ Digital Currency Task Force and oversaw crypto trading for the firm’s fixed income division.
Earlier in his career, Restout served as Executive Director for Electronic Trading eFX, EMEA at Goldman Sachs and as a Forex Trader at Natixis.
“Institutional interest in cryptocurrencies is driving more TradFi participants to commit significant resources to understanding, producing and marketing digital markets,” Gillespie said.
“Our appointment of Thomas adds additional and complementary market knowledge, risk management and product innovation expertise to B2C2.”
Restout’s appointment follows that of Nicola White, who joined B2C2 last year as president of its US operations. White joined Citadel Securities where she served as Director of Fixed Income Operations.
“The tremendous growth of crypto assets over the past few years shows its acceptance as an established asset class, attracting a growing array of institutional participants,” Restout said.
“I’m excited to join the team to help accelerate expansion by further expanding the offering, leveraging technology and quantitative approaches.”
